ENGINEERING MANAGER INTRODUCTION With continued business growth and expanding engineering initiatives, CS Medical has an immediate opportunity for a full-time Engineering Manager. CS Medical is a leading manufacturer of FDA registered disinfectors used in hospitals worldwide. The company has patented devices that provide high level disinfection for ultrasound intra-cavity probes. Our products incorporate temperature critical fluidics, microprocessor control and data transfer, interactive human interface and electromechanical design components. The company installs and services its systems throughout North America and has international distributors in countries worldwide. We operate in an ISO 13485 quality environment and are an FDA registered manufacturer. JOB TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES As the leader of the engineering team, you and your team will be responsible for maintaining the CS Medical product portfolio, researching and updating product designs, conceptualizing and prototyping new designs, creating assembly procedures, transferring design changes to production, and interfacing with quality teams to ensure product is manufactured to specifications. You must have skills to manage engineering changes, bill of material creation and cost estimating. You will coordinate and direct projects, make detailed plans to accomplish goals and direct the integration of technical activities. You will confer with executive management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures. JOB DUTIES: •Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects. •Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment. •Direct, review, and approve product design and change. •Recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence. •Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department, service, laboratory or firm. •Perform functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of engineering materials or services. •Maintain the department as to follow CS Medical’s QMS and adheres to FDA QSR, ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and CE MDD guidelines MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS •Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required, Preference will be given to Electrical Engineer but will consider other degrees with the right background and experience •7 or more years of experience in a related field •3 or more years of management experience •Must be able to work independently with little supervision as well as foster a team environment •Proven track record of project management with product(s) on the market PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS •ISO 13485, ISO 9001 and QSR experience •Worked on or managed a team that obtained FDA clearance of a Class II or III medical device •Firm understanding of electro-mechanical design •Experience leading a team of engineers with a variety of backgrounds and skill sets LOCATION This position will be based at our Creedmoor, NC offices. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position. HOURS The general hours shall be Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 3:00pm with an hour break for lunch. As a salaried employee you are expected to work at least forty (40) hours per week. Our flex schedule policy applies to you. You can flex around the core hours listed above to complete the remaining required hours in the office. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is regularly performed in office and warehouse environments. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 80 pounds.
