Facilities Assistant

With continued business growth and expanding engineering initiatives, AirClean® Systems has an immediate opportunity for a full-time Facilities Assistant.  AirClean Systems designs and manufactures ductless fume hoods, laminar flow hoods and related enclosures for institutions worldwide.

Job Summary

Assists with maintaining all facilities of AirClean Systems in proper working order and in accordance with all safety standards.   

 

Essential Functions 

  • Upkeep and maintenance for all buildings for AirClean Systems or for Dobbyn properties.

  • Maintain all AirClean Systems production equipment.

  • Implements planned maintenance programs for a variety of equipment.

  • Preventive maintenance of facility equipment, including HVAC and office equipment.

  • Comply with all Safety and health regulations.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues.

  • Keep inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.  

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, and lift or move heavy equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents.

  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus

  • Working knowledge of general commercial and industrial building techniques.

  • Prior experience in commercial or residential building work a plus.

 

Location

This position will be based at our Creedmoor, NC office.

 

Terms of employment

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.   

 

Hours

The general hours shall be 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, with a half hour break for lunch.  Two paid breaks are also offered. 

 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions.  Work is regularly performed in a combination of outdoor, office and shop environments.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and/or walk.  The employee is occasionally to frequently required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with arms or hands.  The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 100 pounds. 

 

Travel

No travel is expected for this position other than travel between properties.
