With continued business growth and expanding business initiatives, AirClean® Systems has an immediate opportunity for a full-time Human Resource Manager.  AirClean Systems designs and manufactures ductless fume hoods, laminar flow hoods and related enclosures for institutions worldwide.

Job Summary

The human resource manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function.  This position is ideal for a person with department of one experience. 

Responsibilities

  • Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Implements and annually updates the compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness and information activities program.
  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees. 
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews.
  • Handles employee relations counseling.
  • Conducts investigations as appropriate. 
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports.  Maintains organizational charts and employee directory.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars.
  • Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.
  • Recommend, prepare and conduct employee/manager improvement trainings after approval from the management group.
  • Review, reconcile and approve employee times for payroll processing
  • Track, reconcile and report employee PTO balances.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing a plus.
  • Bilingual (fluent in English and Spanish) is a plus.
  • Performs all administrative tasks as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience / Education

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the HR field
  • Minimum of five years of human resource manager experience
  • Minimum of two years conducting investigations and handling employee complaints
  • Minimum of two years being the HR Manager in a manufacturing company

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.  Additionally, this position manages the receptionist and other administrative personnel. 

Location

This position will be based at our headquarters located in Creedmoor, NC.

Terms of employment

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.   

Hours

The core hours shall be Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 3:00pm.  As a salaried employee you are expected to work at least forty (40) hours per week.  Our flex schedule policy applies to you.  You can flex around the core hours listed above to complete the remaining required hours in the office.   You have the discretion for lunch and other breaks.

Work Environment

Work is regularly performed in office and warehouse environments.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  The employee is frequently required to sit.  The employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk.  The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 10 pounds.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
